Cheap Flights To Lusaka – Gateway To Zambia

Cheap Flights To Lusaka – Gateway To Zambia

When you think Lusaka, you are of course thinking of the gateway to Zambia – a true gem in Southern Africa. With a surface area over twice the size of France, you’d expect this vast nation to serve up a whole host of opportunities for wild excitement, entertainment and relaxation – and of course, you’d be 100% correct.

Travelling to Lusaka and the rest of Southern Africa has never been easier or cheaper, with dozens of airlines from countless major global hubs now serving the region on a daily basis. Exotic destinations such as this are fast becoming hugely popular choices for those looking to get a little more from their standard annual holidays.

Many Neighbors, Many Influences

Zambia is 100% landlocked and shares borders with Malawi, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Botswana, Angola and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Needless to say, with such abundant and diverse neighbors comes the kind of cultural influence and mix you will not find in any other country anywhere on Earth.

The vast majority of people that travel to Lusaka or the rest of Zambia as a whole do so for its status as the world’s premier safari destination. Not only does the country offer the most untainted glimpse at what the locals call the “real” Africa, but it is also the country in which to find Victoria Falls – a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World.

The country has a long, colorful and at time unusual history, which has led to today’s Zambia being influenced by no less 73 tribes, leading to at least 20 languages being spoken across the country. As something of a testament to the way humankind can indeed exist in peace, most of the tribe members have proved themselves as able to get along and coexist, which has long made Zambia one of the safest and most tranquil countries in Africa.

A Festival Nation

Among the highlights for visitors of all ages and tastes are the endless traditional festivals held all throughout the year. The only problem is that schedules for these events have a habit of now only changing every year but also changing at little to no notice, so planning ahead can be tough. That being said, there is always something going on so even if the chosen festival decides to reschedule itself, there will be something else nearby to take its place.

If looking to attend any of the festivals on offer during the summer months, the best advice is to ensure that you not only have a high tolerance for heat, but also the rather rowdy (though usually well-meaning) hordes of locals and tourists celebrating life together.

Lusaka generally has pretty well defined seasons and so trips can be planned to avoid or make use of the dry, wet and winter seasons as desired. The best bet is to speak to an independent travel advisor to find out not only how to find the cheapest flights to Lusaka at any time of the year, but also when to go to get the very most out of the trip.
