9 Tips to Make Your Summer Cruise Just Perfect

9 Tips to Make Your Summer Cruise Just Perfect

- Get a good bargain

Do not select a cruise just because you liked its advertisement on TV, and it promised a discounted deal. You should search the web extensively and go through the websites that auction cruise packages. Make bid on cruise packages and avail amazing deals.

However, before bidding, you need to determine the approximate amount that you can afford to pay for the cruise, your desired destination, and preferred departure and arrival dates. Fill the information on the bidding site and you could win a reasonable cruise package.

- Choose low season for a peaceful cruise

Summers are very popular with kids and large families. Of course, such a high concentration of people may not let you enjoy a quiet summer cruise. That is why it is best to choose a period when the schools are about to open.

For instance, you can choose any day during the last week of the vacation. During this time, the cruises are not as crowded and noisy.

- Enjoy local music from the ship

Most of the cruises offer musical events where you can dance and enjoy. However, you can also listen to local songs by taking a radio along. When you are on the shore, tune in the radio and it will catch the local stations.

Listen to the news and commercials in a different language and have a great time.

- Be patient

During summers, families with schooling kids go on vacation. Hence, you are likely to find yourself surrounded with kids running around on the deck and rambling non-stop.

In such a situation, you need not deprive yourself of the much-deserved relaxation. Bringing a personal music player will help you detach yourself from the surrounding noise.

- Choose a good location for your cabin

Your cabin should allow you to have a peaceful sleep so that you can enjoy the cruise to the fullest. Hence, you should not choose a cabin which is directly beneath the deck, as you may be disturbed by the constant sounds of footsteps, running feet and sliding of chairs.

- Prepare a list

A list of activities that you will be doing during the cruise will help you decide what things you should pack. Check the itinerary properly and note down the activities in which you will take part.

For instance, if you plan to do a lot of outdoor shopping then you should make sure that you carry a hat, plenty of sunscreen and a pair of slippers or sandals. It will save you from acquiring unwanted tan.

Additionally, you should count how many days you are going to spend doing each activity. It will help you pack in the right quantity of items.

- Pack wisely

You may be tempted to pack everything randomly because your luggage/backpack/duffel has many convenient pockets. However, once the items are inside those pockets, you will have a hard time finding out which pocket holds which item.

Make your task simpler by labelling each pocket with the item it contains. In this way, you can accommodate several items in a single space. With labels for guidance, you will find the item in time.

- Keep a check on the quantity of toiletries

Packing more toiletries than you will actually need is not a good idea. Most of the cruise liners offer complimentary creams and lotions, hair care accessories like blow dryers, serums and so on.

Therefore, it is wise to pack only those items that you use regularly. The night cream that you will specially buy for using on the cruise may remain unused because you are not in the habit of using it at home.

- Reward the staff to encourage good service

It is the job of the staff on the ship to take good care of your every need. However, it will always encourage them to perform better if you acknowledge their good work. If you do not get a chance to praise them verbally then you can leave a thank you note in your room so that the staff could spot it easily and feel motivated.
