Origins

In October 1985, Emirates began its journey as a wholly owned venture of the Government of Dubai with only two planes. It was the quality of experience and not the quantity that drove the airline in its early days. Although the fleet has expanded to over 191 aircraft, quality is still the first priority in every aspect of the airline. After only a few years in service, Emirates Airlines increased revenue by approximately 100 million dollars each year. In 1993, the airline's revenue topped out at about 500 million dollars. Today it is the largest airline in the Middle East, and it operates 2500 flights each week. Emirates Airlines is the only carrier to operate non-stop flights to Dubai from Los Angeles, Dallas, San Francisco and Houston.

- Two on board Shower Spas with luxury amenities, fresh flowers, and an LCD monitor for first class passengers. Showers need to be booked and are limited to five minutes per booking.

- First and Business class passengers are offered complimentary limousine service on arrival in Australia and on departure in every city around the world.

- Each seat is an individual suite designed for privacy, relaxation, and luxury. Each suite is equipped with lamps, a dressing table, a mini bar, and a 23-inch LCD touch screen. The seats recline fully flat for comfortable sleeping. Passengers are welcome to hang do not disturb signs when they are sleeping.

- Food and beverage service is all menu based. Passengers choose what they want from the gourmet selections.
