London serves as the top tourist destination in the United Kingdom and 60% of the United Kingdom's air traffic is handled by the major airports in London. The city is served by the top five major airports: Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Luton and London City airport.

London Heathrow Airport (LHR):

London Heathrow Airport is also known as Heathrow, which is the third busiest airport in the world and it is also the main international airport serving London. Heathrow is also the busiest airdrome in Europe with its high passenger traffic. Heathrow has five terminals and it is situated 23km west of central London. Gatwick (LGW):

Gatwick is the second largest international airport in the United Kingdom and is located 47.5 kilo metre south of Central London. It is the fourth busiest airdrome in the United Kingdom following Heathrow, Gatwick and Manchester. Stansted serves as a base for many low cost European airlines and it is the largest base for Ryanair. London Luton Airport was formerly known as Luton International airport and is the fourth largest airport in London following Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted. This airdrome has shopping and eating areas at check in and public areas and also after security.

London City Airport (LCY):

London City Airport is the fifth busiest airport in London and is the 15th busiest in the United Kingdom. It is situated 11 kilo metre east of the City and has a runway of 1500 metres. London City Airport has 15 gates, 17 check in desks, kiosks for Lufthansa, Luxair, AirFrance and Swiss International Airlines.
