Airline Travelers - Have An Airport Security Complaint, Stuff It

Have you ever seen those signs, perhaps in a small business, which say "have a complaint, just take a number," and the number is attached to the pin on a hand grenade. Usually the number attached is number one, in case you are a Darwin award winner and you really do wish to make a complaint. Yes, of course that is a joke, but it's not very funny for people who really do have a grievance, or are frustrated with customer service.

There are other funny jokes like that such as the one which has a complaint box, and you put the complaint form in a little slit, and it falls the trashcan below. In other words don't bother. Don't you feel like that sometimes as an airline traveler at the airport? They treat everyone like cattle and like crap, waiting in lines, treating everyone as if they are a terrorist, and then they want you to walk through a strip scanner, are you kidding me?

Are we really in the United States of America, what the hell's going on? Yes, all these things probably have come to your mind when trying to get on a plane, one you paid an exorbitant price for the ticket, and it just gets worse from there.

The GAO had a new report distributed to the public on November 29, 2012 on the topic of Air Passenger Screening which was titled; "Transportation Security Administration Needs to Improve Complaint Processes," cite: GAO-13-186T.

Well, as the coordinator for a think tank which happens to operate online, I got and download that report, and I actually read the whole thing, and I must say at first, I was amazed that anyone would bother to write such a report because it is so obvious and self-evident that it hardly needs endless pages to describe the problem. Many of the suggestions were decent, but they neglect the fact of the real problem, and the foundation of the issues concerning security versus personal privacy. You see, we don't live in Nazi Germany, and this isn't the 1940s.

We live in the United States of America, the greatest nation ever created in the history of mankind, with freedom, justice, and liberty for all. The TSA doesn't seem to believe that Americans are supposed to be free. It is this misunderstanding and fundamentally flawed thinking that has allowed the TSA to get away with this. So whereas those ideas in the GAO report are good, if indeed we really did want to continue the TSA screening process, I think we are missing the bigger picture. I hope you will please consider all this and think on it.
