Bristol Filton
Bristol Filton airport also known as Filton Aerodrome is situated between Filton and Patchway. The airport has the widest runway of 300ft in area. Opened in 1910 as a small flying ground, it was established by The British and Colonial Aeroplane Company. It had a sudden development during World War l. The airport will shut down its operation from end of 2012 due to its commercial and economic viability.
Newcastle
Situated in Woolsington, a village within the boundary of The City of Newcastle, Newcastle international airport ranks as the 11th busiest airport in England. The airport has extra facilities for children and disabled travelers. Travelling from and to Newcastle airport becomes easy with public transportation which includes trains, national coaches, taxis and hired cars. Although the airport has only one terminal, it serves over 5 million passengers every year. If you are driving by road, you can find the directions on signboards at various places. Newcastle airport has valet and short and long stay parking, which can be pre-booked as well.
Durham Tees Valley
Durham Tees Valley is one of the smallest airports in The United Kingdom and offers links to several domestic and European destinations. The airport was earlier known as Teesside International airport and it serves County Durham, Teesside and a part of North Yorkshire.
In May 2005, Sky Express bus service was launched to connect the airport with Darlington's Rail Station and Town Hall. However, the service stopped operating from 25 January, 2009. If you are travelling by car to the airport, it is easy to reach by the A1 (M), A19, A66 and you will be able to find the directions on signposts. Although the airport has its own railway station, there are only two trains served per week. It is a 15-minute walk from station to the airport terminal.
Liverpool John Lennon
Named after the famous Beatles member, Liverpool John Lennon is one of the fastest growing airdrome in Europe serving international and domestic flights. With the attempts of promoting the local talents, the airport displays the art work in and around the building. To celebrate the musical heritage, the grounds of Liverpool terminal have the Beatles references. It is easy to reach the airport from Liverpool city centre. M56, M57 and M62 motorways are closely linked to the airport. The Liverpool airdrome parking offers a lot of attractive packages to save money.
